Topics

        Conference topics will  have strong focus on computer supported hands on teaching and learning.

        It will cover all fields of Science and Technology: Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Zoology,
        Botanics, Ecology, Archeology, Astrophysics, Mathematics, Robotics, Computer Science.

Goals

    To gather and discuss:
            Good practices  in Hands-on learning and teaching
            Syllabus and policy recommendations
            Complementing pedagogic theories
            Constructivism
            Conceptual learning
            Social engagement

        Types of communications

        Videoconference
        Oral presentations
        Poster presentation
        Case study informal presentations
        Demonstration (including theatralisations, computer simulations, virtual   experiments or multimedia material)
        Experiments’ presentation at the Science Fair

Parallel events

    Several events will run in parallel and will partially overlap:

· Regular  Hsci conference

· Traditional Summer school CoLos for teachers (organised by Slovenian Ministry of Science, Education and Sport)

· Science Fair: Hand on Science (including “Open day” with free access for students, teachers, parents,…)

· Summer school of Computer Science for Slovenian students of secondary schools, organised by ZOTKS (Slovenian Association for Technical Culture)

Conference Fee

        Regular fee for conference participants .................................. 150€ (200€ after May 15).
        Reduced fee for participants presenting a communication ........100€
        Teacher and students ...............................................................50€
        (This fee will be fully waived upon request for teachers and students or teams of students of Science Clubs
        that will present their work at the conference).

Further conference fee reduction and other financial support (travel, lodging  or meals) may be awarded upon request for works of exceptional quality and significance. All requests should be made as soon as possible before May 1.
